It seems Heather needs some help. Can we as a chapter gather money for some of these parts??



Alright Guys and Gals
There are several things we still need for the XJ

Rear Bumper preferably a spare tire carrier
American Racing 15x7 Outlaw wheel
Brake Parts for a D44
Front end parts...U joints and Ball Joints
U Bolts for the Rear End

We need these things pronto I am working to find but it is slow go with EJS coming up some do not have the time to talk...Maybe can talk with them afterward.

You're a bit ahead of me. The national BOD has asked each chapter to see if they can make a contribution. I know one of the things they want is to include a trail tool kit with the project XJ and I will be sending out an e-mail within the next day or two to all NAC members (as soon as I figure out how to do a group mailing) asking for contributions toward that item.

Rather than buy a tool kit here and waste money shipping it to Alabama, I would prefer to collect the money and send it to Heather with a couple of suggestions as to what and where to buy, and let her take it from there. I'm also waiting to hear back from John B about whether we should run the contributions through the chapter treasury, or send the moeny to me (YEAH!!) and keep it separate from the bank account.

I'm thinking that if each NAC member could toss in $5 we'd be able to donate a pretty nice set of tools to the effort.

I notice on the members' board that Heather mentions the need to do fund raisers to help pay for fuel to get the Give-Away XJ up to NACFest for promotion - now THAT is something we definitely should be helping out with from a Chapter perspective!

Besides asking for flat out donations - why not give something back to the chapter members as well. I propose that any proceeds (over cost) that we get from NAC sticker sales in April and May, we donate to the Give-Away XJ gas fund to get it to NACFest. NAC stickers (members only please) are $6 for one, $11 for two, or $5 apiece for 3 or more.

Mike, that's a good idea. And, since you are out of pocket quite a bit for the chapter decals, I might also add for the benefit of those who don't know it that it's also very generous of you.

I forgot that the project truck will be at NACFest. If we can take up a collection before then, maybe we can buy the tools and send them back home in the truck.

ANY Member can order these stickers. And we encourage their participation!

We should remind everybody that Chapter "membership" is simply a convenience for folks who live in various areas to get together on a local basis. None of the Chapters (to my knowledge) has any kind of a formal sign-up process - we are - first and foremost - part of the North American XJ Association, tied together by these great web-sites and our collective interest in this great vehicle.

You become a "Chapter member" automatically by being a member and happening to live in one of the loosely-defined Chapter areas.

We know it's "loosely-defined" because SE Chapter just went ahead and grabbed VA away from NAC, and the Civil War wasn't re-ignited! (However, you know we can't really trust those rebel yahoos, and have drawn a "Red Line" around WV. Any incursion by Grey Cherokees will automatically trigger a WMD response - if Beezil is available. )
