Getting warm out, and that means cookout time

Just though I'd share when you're out wheelin and havin a cookout :)

Here's a really good and simple recipe for a side dish of sorts for your cookout.

*warning* not for the weak of mouth. So, if you like spicy, this is for you. Its more of a body hot than a mouth hot.

Ingredients...
1lb of smoke sausage (sliced into thin peices or chunks)
1/2 red bell pepper (sliced)
1 green bell pepper (sliced)
3 jalepenos (sliced, leave seeds)
1 sweet onion (sliced)

1 jar of sweet and sour sauce (usually 16oz)
A few big dashes of Louisiana hot sauce (or something like it). I like to add more cause I like it spicy

Throw all the veggies and meat on tin foil. Mix both sauces up and pour over everything in the foil. Seal the foil. Throw on the grill at medium heat for 45 mins. And, you're done. Just open up the top of the foil and put a ladel in it. If you have a lot of peeps. Make two batches.

Also, instead of a side dish, this can be a whole meal for 3-4 peeps. Serve over rice. Add a bowl of peaches for the side dish. Peaches help take the heat out when your body and mouth is too hot.

Ahhh, I can not wait to get back home to go camping! Especially with our new ride! :) Recipe sounds good, mine's pretty simple, I bought some Ranch Style beans on sale a week ago, with Jalapeno's...mmmmm. (useless post, I know).

You mean you dont cook out all winter? For my Bday in January we always have a big cookout with all the summer trimmins.....corn on the cob, burgers and brats on the grill, tato salad, mac salad......I cook outside all year!

Yes Im in AZ but for my Bday it was 37* and snowing....I live at 6900' altitude

You call that hot?

Jalapenos are for nancies.

it also means that it's time to go to:

Ask and you shall receive huh? My dad and I are going for a ride up around Cutler dam today to see how much water they are letting out up that way.

And they all need to stop now! rained out 3 days of trying to landscape the yard! Running out of spring, don't want to do it the summer. :rattle:

I think God is trying to punish the Mormans. :D

About time! Any religion that tells you that you cannot drink is wrong.

This morning while I was driving into work I had the air conditioning on. I had to turn it down a bit about halfway there though becuase I was starting to get cold.

I live in Illinois and BBQ all year round, run the smoker during the fall and winter. Don't cook highly acidic foods(tomato products, fruit, anything with vinegar including hot sauces, etc) in aluminum foil. The foil and the acid react and can get you pretty sick.
