Are we using FRS or CBs?
I'll get one eventually.
We all have FRS
Hey Glenn, since you got to use an FRS radio this trip, what did you think?
We could hear you loud and clear several trails away on the mountain on Friday when Ed was talking to you.
Clay and I did a test on the way home and found them to work pretty good at 1 mile away (relatively unobstructed land), and started breaking up at 2 miles away. We both have the extended antennas on ours though.
I could very easily see FRS radio's becoming mandatory at the next Crawl....
He already says they suck. I'm sure CB radios would have done much better...
The only thing that's going to work any better than 5 watt FRS is 50 watt 2M and repeaters. Time to get your HAM license. Radio waves don't like going over and through mountains.
Sean let me borrow a radio. All I could hear was fencepost
