Flipping a 300

When doing a 300 flip is it really necessary to redo the shift fork box?
Any reason not to just leave it on the bottom and use cables rather than linkage arms for shifting?

some pleople complain about gear oil leaking out the shift rail holes...

my question now - what happens when you stuff the drivers side and the axle moves to the left - doesnt the DS hit the linkage?


oh - and you need to put a nut on your fron output yoke
