fast ratio power steering z28

whoops. so the z box is all of them, not just the fast ratio ones. in the post above,
what out of that will be stamped on the box cover and what do i look for in the center console?

I cant remember if the 3rd gen f-body had a tire listing on the GRVW tag door jam or not but look for cars that have the 245/50/16 tire, any car with that tire size from the factory has teh right box also.

are you positive about the wheel size and the boxes?
i found a 89 with QPH (Tires, P245/50R16 Blackwall) in the console, but its not a z28 just has the 170hp 305 in it.
the tag also had N90 (Wheel , 15x7 Cast Aluminum)

ive got the vin and option code tag in hand, and the numbers on the top of the box are as follows

7812145
8B273

and over to the side stamped into the cover is 2B

it was 2 1/4 lock to lock.

is this what im looking for?

Yes, I'm pretty sure that's the one. According to the reading I've been doing, fast ratio boxes are between 2.25 and 2.75 turns lock to lock. Standards are somewhere between 3.5 and 5 turns lock to lock...
