Edelbrock aluminum head in the works

I somehow felt sure you were screwing with us.
This is pretty cool news.
I sincerely hope that they can come in cheaper than Hesco was.

It was my impression that the later 0331 heads would swap onto any 4.0 block. Even though none of our junk will qualify as a test vehicle, I'd thought the finished product would bolt onto an XJ 4.0
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong

correct.

From what I have heard the price will be less than hesco's and reasonable.

Edelbrock big block & LS1 heads are about 1K each, SBC stuff is usually under $1k a pair. Mopar & Ford tend to be in between.
We might get lucky and come in at $1200 for it. Who knows?
At $1200, though, I'd need to see some benefits well beyond what a 3-angle & polish gets you on an HO head. Ability to run more compression or ignition advance would be a good start.

This sounds good, in theory. But, I believe a stock 4.0L head, reworked by Russ Pottenger is better than a hesco head for half the cost already?

They are unveiling it at SEMA this week.

If it was priced around $750 or so I'd consider it.

Damn, the mileage and distance thing sucks, be interesting to see what difference that head would make in engine and handling performance. Also would have been intersting to try and convince my little Sister to lend them her recently aquired Plum Crazy w/White Stripes 2014 Challenger R/T Classic to trynout the supercharger:firedevil
