Let's do this. Ed has worked hard for this chapter and I'm all for a good wrenchfest/meet & greet/cookout.

Here's a list of things that I know of needs attention.

1) Shackle relocation brackets
2) Valve cover swap and gasket replacement (swapping to new style not renix)
3) Passenger front door swap, if anyone has one...
4) Doorless mod. pin the front doors
5) Replace drivers front seat. I have a 97+ seat but need some brackets made to adapt it in
6) Cut-n-fold the rear quarters
7) Whatever else we happen to find to fix

Just a few things I know that needs to be done or things he would like done.

Ed, pick a weekend. After all, it's gonna be at your house.

i have a newer valve cover i can bring if you guys dont already have one.

is his original seat bracket in good shape? as long as we have some scrap steel around im sure an adapter bracket can be made.

so i guess now were hunting a passenger door.....

Re: Ed-fest! date tbd

Too bad I'm here and you are there.... I have one or two....

Re: Ed-fest! date tbd

I don't know about the base but even if it's not ok I think we have another one...Ed?

as long as we have one good one that fits his floorboard....were smart people we'll make it work ;)

are his doors power? doorless will be easy, if i spot a sharp door at the PAP i'll snag it

I have the stuff for the valve cover - Mark has the bolts/studs.

My XJ is an '88 with power. I don't need to be doorless.

I might have a seatbase. I think the base is fine but the seatback is what is tweaked.

Re: Ed-fest! date tbd

I can do the late model seat install. Done it before by building the front rail. Little extra bracing needed also but no big deal with a welder.

Re: Ed-fest! date tbd

I have a late model grey passenger side seat with no bracketry at all. I'd be happy for Ed to have that!

And, if the date works where I can be there, I'll most likely bring Avery and Barrett so that Jack and Ollie have some playmates for the day.

So...Ed...pick a date I can be there!

Re: Ed-fest! date tbd

That's it, time to get the neon on the Road so I can come! Maybe we can even see if Brad and Molly want to come down for this.

Re: Ed-fest! date tbd

I need to talk to the wife to be sure but right now October 13th is looking okay.

Guys, I appreciate the thoughts and you have no idea how your willingness to help me makes me feel. I don't know what else to say.

I can't do the 13th as I'll be doing the MWC's bi-annual trail clean up but I'll be there in spirit!

Re: Ed-fest! date tbd

and that will be near wedding time. what about the weekend before?

Re: Ed-fest! date tbd

Man would I love to lend a hand in this. 6.5 hours from Charlotte would make it a bit difficult though. 13th is when the Fall Jamboree at Uwharrie is scheduled for, and NAXJA is committed to volunteering there...

Re: Ed-fest! date tbd

I don't mind taking on the rear cut & fold...

We have a more than capable crew... Building Tim's fence comes to mind

Ghost... might wanna throw some spacers in the mail ;)

Re: Ed-fest! date tbd

I have '92 grey cloth seats if we can figure out a way to get them there. I have done the late model swap though with a simple piece of angle.

Re: Ed-fest! date tbd

Guys I will have to find another date as Oct 13 won't work for me. I forgot about something that is going on that day. The 27th is out also. I will try to figure something out soon.

I recently purchased a plasma cutter it that would make the cut and fold easier. As long as we have a 220 and a compressor.
