will a 2wd 4.0 computer work on a 4wd xj 91-95? I think these years are all the same.

No. From my experience you need the same part number that is in your Jeep now. I have a 91 and tried several ones with different part numbers and they did not let the Jeep run right.

There should be no difference in ECM's for 4wd vs 2wd.
But you do need to make sure it's compatable. If you cant find the same number check with a Jeep parts dept, they can give you a list of what number supercedes what and which will be compatable.
Thats exactly what i recently did for a ZJ and found a reman'd unit on ebay.
