Dynomax cat back rattles against shackle

I searched here and google about the dynomax catback exhaust for my nearly stock Cherokee before I bought it, and after installing it and not being satisfied because the final kick in the tailpipe section causes it to rattle/vibrate against my shackle(lift shackle).

I know lots of people run lift shackles and lots of people have or have used the same catback. Has anyone had this problem?, how did you fix it?, why did I not read a single thing about this before?

I have tried to move the tail pipe section three times and it doesn't really seem to help. There is a small kick away from center in the last 8-10 inches(right before the polished tip) that seems to have to purpose what so ever. Does everyone else have this or do I maybe have the wrong pipe?

You're gonna have to cut off the kick and install a straght pipe or a turndown

Nope that sounds about right. I just cut mine off just after the last exhaust hanger. Been that way for years without a problem

I modified mine on the cheap. I cut it on the straight section just before the kick, put in a joining clamp and rotated the last section so the polished end was angled down. Then I cut the end to fit better and not drag on rocks.

I put a full Borla stainless exhaust on my 94. As long as I ran the stock shackle, there was no problem. As soon as I put on 1.5" dogleg shackles, I had to trim off the last several inches and replaced it with a simple turndown. No avoiding it.

Extended shackles are an issue even with stock exhaust. I cut down turn completely off. This keeps the exhaust from banging on the shackle. I also recommend doing that on a stock exhaust with a stock hanger. This keep you from wrapping the tail pipe under the Jeep when you catch an obstacle on it while backing up to gt a better line.

I'm running the Dynomax catback and had a local shop weld it up for me. They apparently noticed the interference and fixed it because mine doesn't have that problem. However, my stock exhaust did hit on the shackles, so I just cut the end off.

As for the fancy chrome tip? First time out wheeling after installation, I smashed it. At some point it will be cutoff and replaced with a turndown.
