DP-Tuner 7.3L PowerStroke Problems...

Alright, so my buddy just got a DP-Tuner for his 7.3L and he installed it in somewhat of a rush.

It ran perfectly fine, pulled onto the street in the 80-hp economy setting. He mashed it, smoke and what not, next thing you know it drops into limp mode.

The engine revs up somewhat fine in park/neutral, but whenever you try and put it in gear you have to practically floor it to get it to move. That and when you try and start the engine in stock mode it wont start. It revs, dies, revs, dies, continually until you put it into any other mode. Even then the idle is really rough, almost like you're in a massage chair.

I'm thinking he fried the PCM.... anyone else got any info?

I also tried uninstalling the Tuner and got the same result as trying to start it with the tuner in stock mode.

well just an update, jody said to scan it, they scanned it and it says there's a problem with the PCM.... something about what keeps the engine running once it starts. Jody seems to think it's a fuse but we can't find one that's fucked up anywhere.

there is a recall on the CPS on all of the 7.3s

We figured out the problem... It was a loose/bad connector inside the passenger side valve cover. But damn, that thing is nice.

Hahah, I don't care.... It's not mine...
