..any recommendation for the most cost-effiecent( read cheap + strong..) and preferably stock double-cardan rear driveshaft that I could use with my 86-XJ and also the rear transfer case output( 27-) spline flange type/size-I am vacillating between purchaseing something commercially or scouring the local boneyards again this summer - TIA

If you do buy something commercially, go with a local drivetrain shop that has dynamic balancing. People have more problems with CV shafts that cost $300+ and are balanced at 2,000 RPM, which is nowhere near enough.

I have no idea on a boneyard setup, and have never heard of one. You'd think if there was something out there that people would be all over it, although when you do a lift a new driveshaft for your lift gives you all new parts and is probably worth the coin.
