Door check pin?

I opened my driver side door and the little pin had broken and fallen out. My back door pin is always backing out too. What is a good fix for this? Install bolts other find new pins? If new pins are the way to go where for I locate such an item? Thanks.

quadratec sells new assembles for $14 or so shipped. i never ran the door checks anyways. its just an extra thing to disconnect to go doorless.

Thanks for the info. I never thought of not having the pins. I was worried that the doors. Would open to far into the fender.

I made new pins out of drill rod, crossed drilled it for cotter pins. The hinge part that bolts to the body was worn out on mine so I welded (brazed) a nut on top and bottom then drilled them out to fit the rod. Worked great for the last three years and still going.

If the brackets they pop into are decent, Dorman 38434 is a non-Mopar option.

I got a package of 4 of them. Cost 5-6 dollars.

If they are backing out, you can use a screwdriver to spread the pin so that it's a snug fit. I'm not sure how well that works though, just seen it suggested.
