Hi all. I'm going to try my luck at a header install this weekend. I have a 97 sport with auto tranny. I found a 2000 fsm online and was wondering if there are any major differences between a 2000 and a 97 fsm in respect to exhaust manifold removal/install? I got the banks setup by the way. The banks instructions state to remove the lower driver side engine mount. Is that really necessary? Any other hints/tricks/tips would be appreciated. I'm hoping everything goes kinda smooth. I'm gonna soak the crap out of every nut and bolt with PB blaster and go from there one step at a time. TIA

Some subtle differences did occur... The 2000's went to a coil rail spark plug set up and lost the "traditional" distributor. The exhaust header also went from a tube type, back to cast in a 3 x 2 exhaust combination.....

Hi all,
I have a 2000 4.0L Sport Cherokee,

Being as my rig has the distributorless design, what is the recommended service for them?

Also, is there a problem with them cracking the headers? If so what part replacements are for them? In other words... is it a problem to buy and install? Thanks in advance!
