Back around 1992, right after I got my first Jeep, I helped a friend build a (for the time)pretty big Scrambler(CJ-8) It was sitting on 39.50 Boggers, around a foot of lift overall, around 650hp injected 400ci small block, SM-420 trans, Dana60/44, leaf sprung. Pretty good build for it's time. Over the years I helped with various projects including a new trans(NV4500), on board air, new seats(out of a Volvo!) tire and wheel upgrade(38"Toyos)
Like most projects, WAY more time was spent building then wheeling. My friend died a couple years ago, and I'd lost track of the project by then anyway. Haven't thought about it much since.

Yesterday, I was at a Jeep specific junkyard here in Phoenix, and came across a very familiar set of fenders lying on the ground. Funny how the silliest things can kind of knock the wind out of you. Kicking around the yard a little more turned up a few more bits.

. . . .

. . . .

In happier times:

Anyone else ever run across the carcass a car you know and love like that?
