I'm running a HP Dana 30, OX locked, 4.56 and 33" BFG KOs. It's time to replace my ball joints. I was going to purchase Spicer or Moog ball joints with zero offset, however I also noticed there are Synergy 4340 chromoly ball joints available for $120 at East Cost Gear Supply. Regular Spicer ball joints run $48. Is it worth the additional investment? Thanks!

We run the Synergy balljoints on the Team Naxja KOH car, and I put a set on my dads JK as well.

I am very happy with them and would recommend them to anyone.

so far my XRF ball joints are holding up well, not quite the same league as synergy (also looked at buying a set) but i would recommend them. check out MIBearing for super cheap prices,IIRC the part number crosses with a moog. they have a splined body, built very beef. worth a look

Seems like a decent endorsement. I'll give it a shot. Any discounts for members? Thanks.

I dont know of anywhere that sells them discounted. We buy them over the counter.

i got mine at offroad warehouse for $100/pr over the counter. they do online sales so maybe you can get them there.

Hey Van, I saw you said the alljeep spicer ball joints died on you in a few months, and you are using synergy ball joints now. I didnt realize that synergy made WJ ball joints, is it like night and day for reliability ? I just did the Wj swap with those exact Wj spicer ball joints , i guess ill see how long they last.

for getting the ball joints off, I just clean all the crud off, light taps with a BFH, and tons of penetrating oil just for the hell of it. then I use the jeep specific ball joint adapter set with a AZ rental press, and use a 4 ft pipe on the end of a wrench to tighten/loosen the press, and it goes real quick, never have to do heat. so sledge hammer, just a massive cheater bar, saves my back and always seems to work.

I also give some love taps with the BFH around the C where the ball joint goes into while Im cranking on it, to help loosen things up. The jeep specific adapters make life much easier . night and day for me.

those will only work for a wj swap. They are the exact ones i had that only lasted a few months (both sides).

Figures and these are the ones I JUST put in my new axle assembly. I should have went with the chromoly...damn it!
