dana 30 CAD axle intermediate shaft bearing.
I've seen conflicting stuff on the WEB.
For a stock Dana 30, 1991 XJ, non ABS.
Is there a bearing or bushing anywhere near the CAD.
When I open up the cover/vacuum motor and look at where the two shafts come together.
I see the coupling slides freely (with passenger wheel off the ground)
The two shafts seem coupled tightly, the center pin must be in good shape.
However,
If I pry up on the two shafts with a screwdriver, there is 1/4 inch or more of play.
Is there a bearing in there that I may have worn out which is supposed to keep the intermediate shaft centered in the axle tube?
