dana 30 axle seal

i popped the cap of the u-joint today while wheeling, didn't notice till i got home, i guess it happened right before i got back on the pavement, cause i didn't notice anything in 4wd.
anyways, bunch of gear oil came out, so i'm guessing the oil seal is toasted?
i have spare axles, so i will just use them. do i absolutely have to remove the carrier to install those seals?
while i will have the axle apart, what else should i replace? are those axle tube seals, that drivetraindirect sells, a good idea?

The seal is at the differential end of the axle tubes. Yes, I'm pretty sure that you have to pull the carrier out to replace the seals.

I had the same problem a year ago. Looks like all I did was fold the seal over, though, just pulling and replacing the axle solved the problem.

Chewbacca has installed those DTD seals a week before Moab.

USE some GOO on splines when putting axleshaft back in!!!

Gotta take carrier out ....then its pretty simple....dont have to use special tools...unless you want to learn to use them...LOL
