Question 1. I need to know if the pinion uses an oil slinger.
So far my information shows that it may or may not.
Is there a way to know what years or other qualification determines the existance of the oil slinger.
I have a pinion I plan to install, I bought it naked no slinger, bearing anything.
I'd like to get it ready to go in.
Question 2. If the shims were installed behind the cone, they would be smaller than if they were installed in front of the cup. Is there a place to buy just the shims? I think I can save a lot by buying the bearings from a bearing place instead of a kit.
If I buy a kit, are the shims the "behind the cone" or the "in front of the cup" type?
