CPS voltage

Have read so many bad things about CPS's that I thought I would check mine on a 1990 MJ with the orgional sensor. I took an old connector off a junker wiring harness and plugged that into the CPS then attached a DVM to the other end of the plug. On this very accurate DVM I tested 232 ohms and .412 volts max. output. This jeep starts great every time.

The resistance would be the same at any time (I guess), but I assume the voltage was measured while cranking (or while running)?

Glad it works for you. Per some jeep techs on this forum it on pre 91s it should be between .5 and .8 volts when cranking w. connector disconnected. Poor connectors can degrade the voltage strength being transmitted. You don't need the old wire harness side connector to check and it may be degrading you signal some giving an inaccurate reading of the cps output assuming of course your are reading from the back side of that connector.
