Hey y'all. I have a suspicion that most of y'all either know me or know of me by now. I've been a member of 
since 2000. Heck, my member number is in the 100s!
Everything I know about Jeeps came from this forum and the people I've met in person at events, meet and greets, and wrenchfests. I started my Jeep affliction in 1999 when I bought a 1996 ZJ which I still daily drive - and am less than 5000 miles from personally putting 200,000 miles on. Next came a 1985 2.8L V6 model XJ which is where I cut my teeth. As that one ragged out I got a 1990 model that wasn't running. I did just enough learning on that one to get it running and sell it off. I bought a 1994 ZJ while I still had the first 3. I used that as a beater around town. It was my first 5.2L V8 Jeep. We bought a 2004 WJ for my wife to drive about 7 years ago and she's still using it. We've done about 140,000 miles in that since we bought it used. Lastly came my 2001 XJ which is the one that everyone on the forum knows.
Regarding, I am on the last year of my stint on the National Board of Directors as a Director at Large. I've not done anything at a local level regarding leadership in , but I was the treasurer of my fraternity once upon a time - before computers. Yes, that is right. My college didn't have a computer lab. So what, I'm old!
Part of my cause, if you will, if I am on the SEC board will be land use. I travel to Turkey Bay - Land Between the Lakes every April with my girls for their spring clean up. I think it's important to get them involved in Tread Lightly mannerisms at an early age. Having spent awhile in the National BOD, I've learned that a lot of chapters are not taking advantage of the matching land use funds. Also, I've learned that a lot of chapters are not terribly solvent in their local treasury and I want to make sure that the SEC doesn't take that path. As well, I am going to be interested in making sure that the SEC stays profitable and has the ability to use that profit to enhance our membership and land use propositions in the South. *Lastly, if we ever run into financial issues, I am very close to the casinos in Tunica MS and would be comfortable placing our profits on one hand of blackjack in effort to double (nay, 1 1/2x payout) our profits.
Personally, I've been married 13 years as of yesterday. I have 2 daughters that a lot of you have met, since they tend to tag along with me on most of my off-road adventures. I've been employed in the student tourism industry for almost 20 years now. I also drive for a black car service here in Nashville which is awesome. Not only do I get to drive some really nice cars, but I have had an opportunity to meet a lot of artists, actors, and athletes that call Nashville home. I'll be at the red carpet at the CMA Awards tomorrow - look for me on the pre-show! I'll be in the black Mercedes. (well, one of them anyway).
Finally, we have 10 days of nomination left. As of today, all 8 spots are running uncontested. While I believe that the current nominees for the SEC Board of Directors and the 5 open National spots are very competent and will make good decisions for the forum, I hope that anyone that wants to get involved at a local or national level strongly consider challenging for one of the 8 open slots in National and Local.
