Just drove a G35. then looked at the Malibu again and then drove a Volvo S40.

That G35 with the sport, Nav and Premium package is Sweeeeet!

Sure made the 'Bu and S40 look bad.

Probably would take a C-300 or BMW 328 to challenge the G35. When I configure the BMW or MB to match the G35 I drove they start costing quite a bit more...so I think I might be sold on the G35.

Out of what you listed, the G35 is my pick. My mom is on her 2nd G, and I love them. She got an 07 Sedan with the S package and navi. I drive it every chance I can get, the VQ35 just sounds soo sweet.

That said, when it comes to a "commuter" car I tend to go with what reaches that goal the best; mainly affordable overall cost of ownership, cheap entry point, good gas mileage, low insurance, low maintenance costs, hence why I got an Accord.

But if I had more to spend I would have been looking at G's too.

I would go with a Toyota, I know you dont seem to want one but that is just my opinion. Deffinately would go with one over a Malibu. G35 is a nice car, just more then I would want to spend to commute.
