So I'm harmlessly perusing the headlines over at Fark.com, and I innocently clicked on a link about the protests going on in calie over college funding cuts.(I get a kick about listening to the idiots at UC Berkley whine, but that's just me being me,...)
anyway, the story has this photo attached:

Well, mummy and duddy are paying their tuitions!

1) Don't go to college straight out of high school. Get out and work for a bit, figure out what you want to do, and how you're going to pay for it (a year or two will usually serve.)

2) Don't pay for college for your kids - let them figure out how to do it themselves. Sure - you can help them fill out the paperwork, but they'll get loads more out of school if they've got to foot the bill themselves. I don't know how many "educated idiots in progress" I ran into the two times I was in college, simply because their folks were sending them there.

I gave up a couple years ago. Proper apostrophe usage is a lost art.

I defiantly like reading about student's in the naxja political discussion's forum.

More proof that a college degree does NOT mean you are intelligent...

Wow. Just WOW.

Yeah... I honestly think it's better when people just give up on apostrophes completely than it is when they shotgun it and just put one before every S (or worse, random ones in hopes of getting it right.)

I think the worst I've ever seen was "ur'e" though.

Another shining example of American college students...
LEXINGTON, Ky. — Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity has suspended its University of Kentucky chapter after a prank involving fire.
WKYT-TV in Lexington reported 19-year-old fraternity member Shaun Dunn wrapped another member in toilet paper and set it on fire. The carpet caught fire and the smoke detectors went off.
Dunn is charged with first degree arson, wanton endangerment and tampering with physical evidence.
The incident early Saturday also disclosed fire code violations, so the house was closed for the semester. Members were given 24 hours to move out.
Fraternity member Joe McKinley is charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest — accused of hitting the officer in the face when told to leave his room.

Wow, that's pretty stupid. That's almost as bad as people capitalizing random letters and writing letters backwards, which I saw in my GE English class last year when peer editing papers in class.

Cal States and UC's are still a bargain even with the tuition increase.

I did private for undergrad and grad school. That gets pricey.
