Coleman Camper

I recently bought a Coleman camper and I was wondering what the best way to lift it is? It currently has the stock leafs on top of the axle but that doesnt give enough clearance for bigger tires(currently has small trailer tires). Should I just use lift blocks? Is there leafs I can buy and mount up? Thanks for the help.

You could go with a bastard pack like on an XJ. Or I suppose leafs that are the same length main leaf would work as well.

I would definitely opt for a different leaf pack. Cherokee would be nice just because you might have 1 laying around but anything should work. You may have to do some modifications to fit wider leaves but it would be worth it.

We did my friends pop up camper. We built a new frame with a storage deck on the front for coolers, fire wood and stuff, 4" xj springs with homemade hangers with 31" tires. We stripped the factory suspension off the pop up and set it down on the new frame. It was actually a very cool little trailer when it was done. It wouldn't do Rubicon or anything but for Death Valley and some of the other mostly flat bobtail runs it worked great.

Mako, just get new centering pins, and install them with the heads facing down, then move the axle to underneath. free lift!

If you use trailer leaf springs, it will always have a harsh ride and not do too well offroad. I'd suggest longer leads of some sort with new brackets welded onto the frame.

I'm using CJ 2" lift front springs on mine and it does well. Not quite as long as XJ springs, but stiff enough for what I needed.

I'm pretty sure I have some stock YJ leafs in the shed, they would be perfect for that. I'm heading to the desert right after work tonight but will look on sunday morning when I get home. You can buy the brackets from 4wheel parts and weld them on the frame. If you need help with the welding let me know.
