Anyone here play video games when you aren't working on your jeep? If you do, you probably know about the webcomic Penny Arcade. If you know about Penny Arcade, you should also know that their annual Child's Play fundraiser has kicked off.

For those of you who don't know, Child's Play is a non-profit foundation these two webcomic authors have created with the sole purpose of helping out children's hospitals. Mostly in the United States, but with a several hospitals in Canada as well, with a few here and there around the world.

Since it IS a gamer geek webcomic, they mostly focus on providing video games and other types of entertainment for the children who will be spending long periods of time there. Undergoing chemotherapy, recovering from surgery or whatever. Usually these kids end up being immobile for weeks at a time before they recover. If they do.

I know that a Jeep geek forum is REALLY not even close to the right place for a gamer geek fundraiser, but bear in mind it IS for Childrens Hospitals. They are providing some kind of fun for over 190,000 critically ill children each year.

In their first year, this collection of gamer geeks raised 26,000 dollars and donated another 120,000 dollars worth of games, toys and equipment. In three weeks.

For the secret gamer geeks on here that don't know about this, check it out. There is almost certainly a Children's Hospital near you. Either way, the closest one to you, is where your child would be sent if they got ill enough to need the specialized care that these hospitals provide.

If you can, donate. Even some AA's are useful.
