chevy 6 lug vs. ford 5 lug for HP44 build

Are chevy 6 lug brakes wider or narrower than ford 5 lugs brakes? (I.E wheel mount to wheel mount)

They're the same. Most of us use the Chev calipers on Chev flat top knuckles with Ford 5 lug hubs/rotors.

6 lug hubs are the narrowest. Switching to 5 lug hubs makes the axle 1" to 1.5" wider overall(.5" to .75" per side). I forget which amount, but it does increase width Going 8 lug hubs makes it another 1.5" wider overall.
