Cheap metal, Fresno area

For you fabricators out there. The company I work for has a large winery in Madera, and we have a large boneyard of scrap metal (steel, stainless, aluminium), teflon, gears, chains, rollers, and who knows what, that I can obtained at $.04/pound ($0.10 for stainless I think). I am not a metal expert, but if you know your metals and know what you are looking for there may be some great deals out there. If you would like to come by and browse let me know and I can get you access.

We also have tons of 55 gal plastic and steel drums. The plastic drums have been free in the past and I think the steel ones were $5.

This is a where is/as-is opportunity. I don't have time to search for specific items or ship, but am happy to escort any of the group around.

I'm interested, are you free on Saturdays? Maybe with Scrappy and a couple other guys we'll take a tour.

23rd or 30th?

Weekday afternoons would be better. No problems with access on the weekends but, the person(s) to authorize purchase and removal are not there on the weekends. At a minimum, we could set stuff aside and I can get it removed during the week (as long as it isn't too large) and then you guys can pick it up later. I have a full size truck so can haul a bit, or if someone want's something bigger they can drop off a trailer.

BTW, the "boneyard" covers about 2 acres. What is there fluctuates all the time as we have commercial salvage companies that pick up stuff occasionally (especially stainless).

The area is just starting to dry out after all the rains, so it might be 100% accessable in a week or so. I will try to get out there and see how things are.

Ooooohhhhhh, plastic 55 gallon drums would be pleasant for my upcoming bio-diesel operation!

CRASH

We have hundreds of drums. Plastic comes in two varieties, top comes completely off, or top is attached with two ~4" plugs. I will be going up to Manteca in a couple weeks to get some stuff from Dan and could meet you there with a couple maybe, or if you are coming to Swamp you could pick one or two up on the way.

Drop me a PM Chuck with your phone number and we can work out a day. I travel frequently and have very unpredictable schedules. As of today I should be in all next week.

There is still a lot of standing water in areas. Hopefully we are done with rain for the year and things will dry out.

is this something that's going consistently? because i'll be making some trips down that direction this summer...

Just drop me a note Brett when you will be in the area and if I am around you are welcome. As long as there isn't a flood of people wanting to come by the offer will remain open. I expect the main interest is going to be with the locals.

Seems I can't edit this post. Just to clarify, the second model of plastic drum is completely sealed except for two ~4" threaded holes in the top for the plugs.
