Changing username before becoming a member...

So I finally scrounged enough spare change to become a membere here. I have gotten a lot of info in the last couple months here so I want to help out. My question is, "is there a way to change my username before I pay?" When I first registered it told me "Twisted" was already taken but I don't see anyone on the user list with just Twisted. I go by that everywhere and was wondering if it could be changed.
