I just got a new sub Alpine type R and amp Rockford Fosgate 300-1 and i wanted to hide it in the back, but i cant use that little space in the cargo area like most people do. My old ford probe had a cargo cover that would open and close with the rear hatch and it would hide everything. do they make something like that for XJ's? my jeep is a 98. any info would really help me out!

There was a stock cargo cover that was sprung like a window blind. you had to manually work it. I have it on my beater. It's not great but it's there.
I know it's available for model year 96 - I have this also. I think there are some in my local scrapyard if you want me to try and find one for you (what interior trim color) and ship it, else, pick around your scrapyard for a while and you will eventually find one. They clip into a pair of sockets screwed into the trim on the sides behind the bench seat and the lower end of the blind clips into two more sockets that screw into the trim by the liftgate gasket.

The earlier XJs has a retractable type cover, like found in ZJs and WJs. The later XJs had a cloth cover that just clipped in. Nothing that will come up and down with the hatch, although the ZJ did have this feature.
