CARGO BASKET

I have a guy that has a used yakima load warrior with the extension, six yakima light mounts, jack all holder, locking brackets, spare tire mount, thule gutter mount rails. $750 worth it?? sounds pretty good if I go off the retail pricing

All that stuff is worth alot of money, but the Load Warrior is NOT a very deep basket at all. Alot of the times i wish my Mega Warrior was deeper. Are those light mounts on the basket? I was pretty sure when I put my two on you could only do two per side(front and back). Maybe you could squeeze a third, I'd have to go look.

How deep? I want to be able to carry camping gear, coolers, chainsaw, generator up there, wrong basket for me??

The only other thing I'd is maby a home built basket, I remember seeing some stout gutter mounts on here about a year ago ,anyone point me in that direction?

Man, I would save $500 and pick up a surco from summit for a couple hundred bucks and call it good... Just my .02...

Here is the same basket, on my pop-up. The extension is not installed in this picture, but I have it. It's a huge basket. I just use the Thule stretch net to keep everything in place. I love mine.

?? For ya, under the "BigOffRoad.com" it looks like the upper rail on the rack is either bent, or maybe where the extension comes together?
Is it just extended out too far, or is that actually bent... looks kinda weak right there.

Nice... rack, I know a guy that has one on his XJ, never asked him what he thought about it.

It's actually just sitting on the bars. The mounting brackets are in the foreground. I was waiting on the extension in the mail(?), I didn't mount it for that picture.

Sits too high IMO. The surco sits closer to the roof and can hold as much if not more. They sell them at Summit.

Here's my MegaWarrior on the Swamp Lake trail.

The mounts of the rack to the crossbars have to be cranked down or the rack will slide back on forth.

I have had a ton of weight up there, I was running four crossbars, the plastic crossbar mounts will flex.

There is the possibility of ripping off the raingutters.

You can see how the rack has shifted off center. This happened driving over a large tree root and the Jeep lurched to the side.

I've got the mega warrior too, I love it. you can put anything up there, just get that stretch net from Yakima to hold everything in place.

Great post. I'm actually thinking about making my own. With a metal frame and oak runners for the inside. I'll then treat the oak and bolt it on. It won't be as big as your Megawarriors, and probably won't carry as much weight either, however it should look damn nice. I'll post up if I ever get to it.
