Can anyone enlighten me as to wtf is up with the term "cherocar"

For the same reason that this club is occasionally known as the North American Station Wagon Association.

Just the typical inter-manufacturer squabbling. Kind of like how they used to call Mopars "weezers" in the late 60/early70s, how everybody says "Found On Road Dead". Stuff like that. Either ignore it or embrace it.

And know that the "Cherocar" weighs less and wheels better then most anything else out there when it was new, for years after, and still manages a respectable showing almost 30 years after it was designed.

Ive heard the term thrown around by framed jeep guys. They think xj's are meant for pavement, hence the "car". Embrace it, show them that your car can hold its own everywhere their "real jeeps" can if not more.
