Camp Gruber?

Alright, any OK guys out there that can chime in? Looking at going wheelin' this weekend in either Gruber or Clayton. I am leaning towards Clayton as I want more than trail riding. Has anyone been to Gruber and know if there is enough 2, 3 or 4 trails to keep a guy busy all day? I know Clayton has 'em cause I have been there before. In two days we couldn't take 'em all in. What about Gruber?

The Gruber ORV park isn't all that big a place. I'm not too familiar with the trail rating system but I have wheeled at Gruber several times. IMO I don't think there is enough territory to keep you busy all day there unless you want to play around on the cliffs/rocks at the entrance for a few hours. Then again I'm not sure I've been on every trail. I like going out there because it is so close to Muskogee but all the motorcycles and 4 wheelers have cut down on the fun factor. There are some cool views on the back part of the park.

I appreciate the info. That is actually what I thought, but my friend really wanted to go there. Think I have him talked out of it and we should be headed to Clayton this weekend. If anyone else is gonna be there this weekend look for 2 sammies and a black '01 cherokee out at Freelings and come and say "Hey!"

Yeah that website really sucks. The park is owned by the city of Muskogee and the guy who runs the place (Mike Ward) was quoted in the local paper as saying he wanted to ban 4x4's from the park and leave it open to motorcycles and 4 wheelers. He of course rides motorcycles. Having said that I haven't experienced any problems wheelin my XJ there.

Ended up going to Clayton anyway. Had a blast until my buddy in a stock Samurai melted his clutch. The jeep outwheeled them in the mean time anyway, even though the other guy had a Sammy on 31's and a minispool. Man it was AWESOME! Can't wait til Colorado next month.
