CAI or new muffler

or a dynomax super turbo muffler (I would just cut the old one out and weld the new one onto the old pipes depending on the length of the muffler i might need a couple inches of new piping but that should be easy)

so help me out which one should i do?!

^That's pretty good. I'm going to get an aero 2525 turbine muffler for my jeep. Sounds like a 4.0 at idle, but sounds like a german sports car or a supra when rev it. At least this one did. It's a stock 96 4.0 cherokee with stock cat and header.

That has a nice tone to it. I'm about to get rid of the delta style magnaflow and get the db by corsa 24414(straight-through)for the 97-99TJs.

Aeroturbines are nice. Not sure when they changed it, but I know that XJ's cat were 2.25" out from the cat. Not 2.5

Would you loose low end with 2.5 inch all the way on a stock cam/head 4.0 even with intake and bigger throttle body?

Many of the stock systems are 2.5" into the cat and 2.25" out, so I don't think you'd lose much doing a 2.5" catback system. I ordered the Corsa system today for $336 from streetsideauto. They created a price-match coupon "corsa24414"--good for $36 off--that's good until 11:59pm on 6/7 if anyone's interested. The system is for a 97-99 TJ so the tailpipe might not work on XJs(I'm sure I won't have a problem selling the tail with the magnaflow I'm taking off).

replacing just the muffler will not give you more flow. all a muffler does is change the sound. if you want better flow you'll need at least a cat back exhaust...

What lead you to go with the Corsa system? I'm just curious.

I think that all muffler manufacturers should show a cutaway of the inside of their mufflers, otherwise there's not much to go off of.

And good call with streetsideauto, they seem to be good people and their price matching kicks ass. Especially for me because I live so close to them. I can google, find the lowest price, price match, then order usually with free shipping, and if I order before noon my parts usually come the next day to boot. Can't beat that :cheers:

I heard the uuc/corsa rsc36 on a m3 at an autoX and had to have it on mine(normally $900 and I paid $680). It is the best sounding exhaust I have ever heard on a m3/inline 6(the only one I haven't heard that I'm curious about is the Eisenmann Race--$1300). I was talking to Chris/Talyn/SilverXJ last month or so on Jeepstrokers and somehow the Corsa came up and I knew they made a bad-@$$ system for the bad-@$$ SRT8. Well it turns out a little less than a year ago they introduced a 2.5" system for the 97+TJs w/4.0s. I loved my Borla but blew it up(2.25" in and 2" out was choking out the 4.6). I bought the 2.5" SS Magnaflow and 2.5" SS mandrel tail for my buddy, but he grew tired of how loud it was. So I bought a dynomax w/ rebate for him and have been using the Magnaflow. There is nothing discreet about my Jeep w/ the 4.6 and the Magnaflow--it does sound mean and I'm always getting asked what engine is in there. I say 4.6 and they assume I swapped the Ford v8 in there. Anyhow, with the Corsa, it's a nice tight sound at idle and easy throttle, but belts when you get on it(I like the german-muscle sound). It's a straight through design instead of the magnaflow's delta style, so oughta breath a bit easier. It's made in Ohio. I've got an itch and want to scratch it, if I don't like it, I'll take a small loss and sell it to a TJer for $300.
