For that price I just as well go with a ford 8.8 for around $350 and modify it. I'm probably going with a ford 8.8 anyways. I have 1 in my 94' yj with 10" lift and 4.88 gears and it has held up nicely.

Don't know where you could find one for $400. I paid $550 for mine at American River Auto Wreckers.

There is a guy in Phelan Ca. on the 138 between Palmdale and Victorville that has 2 Dana 44 off cherokee's. Here is his number is anybody is interested.
