A friend of mine picked up a used "victor" torch for $150 with small bottles and is offering to sell it to me for what he paid. My worry is, how can you tell the quality of a used torch setup. I am thinking it is just a "victor" compatible and not actually victor branded equipment. My friend was told that it was in fact Victor brand but it seems like there is alot of cheat stuff out there that is merely Victor compatible.
Other than obvious leaks is there anything to look out for when buying a used outfit like this? I don't want to risk the thing blowing up in my garage or catching fire but at the same time, 150 bucks seems like a steal for a nice little torch outfit.
Its two small bottles(full), wheeled cart, regulators, hose and handle for $150.
