Bushwacker how much trimming?

I need to trim my fenders a little tomorrow because with new tires I just mounted (i'm rubbing pretty serious when I corner tight).
I plan on adding Bushwackers in a week or so, and I don't want to trim to much tomorrow so that the Bushwackers won't mount correctly.
Is there a standard hight that Bushwacker reccomends their flares be mounted at or do you just cut as much as you want from the fender?

I already "modified" my front bumper end caps but now it's the backside of the frontt fenders that needs to be cut up.
P.S. My rig is a 2000 four door

you read my mind........i was talkin to my buddy about getting some flares after i decide what wheels i will buy......

i haven`t had any experience with the flares on a cherokee(yet).......on my last toy a 91 ranger i did the cutout flares .......i had to cut 1 1/2" out ...following the contour of the inside of the new flare......
the metal removed amounted to 3/4 inch around the top section of wheelwell and the entire 1 1/2 at the lower edges of the wheelwell.......
i wouldn`t get too wild with the saw yet......
what lift and tires are you running.......and backspacing if not factory...

if anyone has any.. or knows of some instal pics please post `em

I have RE 3.5" (actuall lift 4"+) with 32x10.50x15 on 15x8 rims with 3.75" backspacing. I ripped a mounting screw right out of one of my stock flares just pulling out from the shop that mounted my tires.
I also just got off Bushwackers website and they don't even list a flare for my 2000 but 4wheeldrive Hardwares catalog has them listed for 84-01 4 door. So I emailed Bushwacker to find out what the deal is.

I just put Bushwackers on (and tore one off already) my 2000. I recomend getting the B/Wers first so you have the destructions. The fronts will go on just about like the instructions say, just becarefull of the washer bottle or you will poke a hole in it. The rear will have A LOT more trimming than the insrtuctions say. You will also end up having to weld the seam back together where the tub meets the body. You will need to trim the B/Wers for the rear also.

Go slow, and cut a little at a time.

No problem putting them on the newer years you just have to cut different amounts than what the instructions say. If you're rubbing a little and just want a quick fix just make sure you don't cut past the line that runs along the wheel well. That's pretty close to the line that the bushwackers follow.
