I was wondering if any one has a clue as to what may be making noise in my transfer case. I have a 94 Ranger XLT with Borg Warner 13-54 manual shift. It makes a noise much like a worn throwout bearing alike a loose rattling bearing, but it's not affected by the clutch. It is consistent with driveline speed, except when engaged in 4 low. When it's in 4low the noise is much more noticeable. Regardless if the hubs are locked or not, there is a consistent noise coming through the shifter-boot. It seems to be getting louder. I was just wondering if anyone has some expertise with transfer case noises! Thanks!
