Woke this morning to the yearly buzzing of 2 B-1B's over the homestead as they fly in and out of the Chicago Air and Water Show. They fly a loop consisting of low and high speed passes, wings both straight and swept, while waiting thier turn.

Quite a sight.

have you ever heard the sound of a few thousand car alarms going off at the same time?

I know you know where I live, not to far from show central....

today I "watched" (mostly listened) to the airshow while setting up an axle today....I'd stop every once in a while, climb to the top deck to see what I could see.

the f-18 streaked about a few hundred feet above my building on the way to do a fly-by ay wrigley on its way to do its thing. scared the milk duds outta me!

caught a glimps of the b1b a couple times, but I had to stop to check out the f-14, the a-10 doing a wing-on-wing with a p-51-d (that was cool) and of course, everyone was on their back decks for the f-16 thunderbirds......which just ended about 15 minutes ago.....

too bad the b1-b's didn't drop any ordinance on their way over the burbs....damn

Too bad they didnt drop a bomb out there on the north side, might have set the wrong things right ;-)
Everyting is upside down over by there!

Hmmm....No greater feeling in the world than being a dirt huggin groundpounder calling for air support and seeing a pair of a-10's fall in for CAP (Apaches 5 min out-/AC-130 Spooky "busy"elsewhere) ...Impressive
