Bobby Longfield R.I.P.

The Hard Struggler

NAXJA Forum User
Location
Atlanta GA.
Fellow wheeler and innovator of some fine products, finally succumbed to his long and difficult health problems.

While he is more well known among the Toyota guys, he was the forerunner of what became the RCV axles that we all know of, as well as the very economical cryo and heat treating of hard parts like gear sets.

Having spoke with him several times over the years, it was always a pleasure to call and have the owner of the company answer the phone with his rather distinctive "Hello.(pause). Bobbbby!"

The off road community has lost an ally.

Go here and buy some stuff.

Tim, I thought of you this morning when I heard the news. I remember you talking about how great of a guy he was at the Crawl. The offroad community lost a brother today! :(

I bought my D-30 RCV's from Bobby(I got the first production set made) I actually talked directly with Bobby and I still have his personal cell phone number. He told me to call him if I ever had a issue with the shafts.

A true innovator in the off road world and a heck of a nice guy on top of that. My condolences to his family.
