Best Heat Shield Sleeve Options for Protecting Wiring Near Exhaust?

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for some advice on choosing a reliable heat shield sleeve to protect wiring and hoses running close to my exhaust system.

I’ve seen a few options online (like fiberglass or aluminized sleeves), but I’m not sure which material or brand offers the best long-term heat resistance and flexibility for tight engine bays.

Has anyone had real-world experience with these, especially in high-heat environments?

Also, any installation tips would be appreciated.

I want to make sure everything’s protected without compromising performance.

The two main approaches to insulation are:
  • Reflecting radiant heat - The bright metal finish on insulation accomplishes this.
  • Insulating from convective or flowing heat - This is accomplished with insulating material. The more the better.
If there is no way to drain heat away from the location, fiberglass or other air trapping insulation only delays the time it takes for convective or flowing heat to get something hot However, bright foil finishes on insulation can continuously reflect radiant heat. So my recommendation is to use a product with a bright silver foil exterior appearance, and insulation thickness is secondary.
