Bald Mtn. on Sat?

Any one up for Bald Mtn. on Sat? So far its me XJCHUCK and his MAXIMUS and Chucks neighbor. The plan is to meet at the store parking lot in Prather at 9:00 a.m.

Will be up in your neck of the woods this weekend doing some camping with my son and a freind from Bakersfield. Two XJ Jeep total, I think we will be camping at Dinkey Creek. Not sure if will be up and ready by 9am though. Maybe will see you on the trail, if my friend remembers how to get to the trail head.

We usually meet at 9:00 and go shopping for lunch at the store and mill around in the parking lot for a little while. We actually get out of the parking lot closer to 9:45. So if you guys hang out at the trail head we will probably be there about 10:30.

I just talk to my friend and he kinda remembers how to get to the trail head from Dinkey Creek. If you could give me directions we can meet you with you at the trail head. By the way what cb channel will you be using?

Hey Neil, I talk to Matt (not Farmer Matt). he said one of his buddies wants to join us. He has a well built K5 blazer, so he should be able to get us out of a jam, knowing me who knows what will happen.

Neil or XJchuck, can you post directions from Dinkey Creek Camp ground to the trail head at Bald Mtn. I think will be staying at the same camp gound the Richard Goatman stay at ever year when doing Swamp Lake run.

I tried to find somekind of map for you, but the ones I found didn't have enough detail.

Anyway, when coming back from Dinkey Creek campgound, the turn should be on your right side. You should see some brown signs that say either Bald Mtn or Swamp Lake trail head. You should also see these signs on the way to the Dinkey campground. The name of the road you want to turn on is Rockcreek Road. I hope this sparks some memories.

hey Chuck I have some Forest Service maps, sadly not in AZ with me. If you want we might beable to arrange you getting them, they are SUPER detailed.

If i remember right, you are going to pass bald mountain exit on your way to the camp ground. But you take that exit unil a obvious left hand turn. I believe they are going to fun the trail in reverse. So make sure you stay to the right so that you can catch up! hope that helps!

Bald Mtn meeting place

Neil or Xjchuck,

Robert and I will me up with you at the trail head in Bald Mtn. We will be on channel 5. I have a forest green xj and Robert has a Red Xj. We will be leaving Bakersfield between 5 and 6 am to be up at the trail head by 9am.

It was nice meeting you guy this past weekend up at Bald Mtn. Now I can put some faces with the names. When we left we went to find West Lake and Strawberry Lake and I have to say it was great 4 wheeling to those lakes. I think that next year we will be going back and exploring the other 3 lakes up in the same area. For now it's to cold and its problebly getting colder. Well thanks for showing us around.

Here's some pics of the run, It was nice meeting Joe and Robert, can't wait to do more wheeling with you guys. We also met Amy and I think her Dad from Santa Cruz. We had a good time, I took my Dad, he wants to get a jeep now, so if anyone knows of a good deal on an XJ in CA, PM me.
