anyone using the afe momentum cai?

Is anyone using the aFe momentum cold air intake? It's the one with the fully enclosed box, I like that idea. And no, not a fan of cowl or snorkels lol.

Its a nice setup, but cost is high, and I'm dubious of any significant gains. I insulated the factory air box (removed it and covered it with stick-on foil-faced foam insulation) and then isolated the airbox inlet so that it would only receive air from outside the engine compartment. If you are worried about the accordion messing with air flow, there are silicon intakes available on ebay for $60.

If you get the AFE, definitely post your experiences.

It is the only one that actually works, I have the coldest air intake temps since I modded my system (the AFE didnt exist then)! I made several mods to the factory air box, headlamp holder, and headlight bezel.

The money I saved paid for reducing temps further with ceramic coating my intake and header!

I noticed that pretty gold in that first post, that’s sweet! My headers are coated but never thought to do the intake. I have a Golen so figured it was time to improve its ability to breathe.
