I've got a tranny problem, and a CEL, I was wondering if anyone had a scanner.

I need to narrow this problem down!
Autozone no longer rents them due to a class action lawsuit. :flame:

I live in San Mateo.

Thanks!

If you haven't taken care of this by Monday the 9th, I'll ask the guy who services our company vehicles (Murray's Auto on 10th and So. Claremont in San Mateo), and see if he'll do a scan for you FOC. Dude is an awesome mechanic, and let's me use his Lifts/Snap-on tools after work whenever I want to do something on my Jeep all for a couple beers!! He's out of town thru this weekend though.

I've got one over in Newark.

I've got a guy at autozone that may be able to get me one to use. If that falls through I'll let you know.

I just spoke with Kieran at Murray's on 10th and S. Claremont here in San Mateo, and he said he would check it for you no charge. Give me a call at work if you want to pursue this option. Phone number sent in PM.

I've got one in San Jose as well. Nothin' fancy, but it works.

You can usually find one (again, nothin' fancy) at Sears for less than $100 - that's where I got mine. You don't need to blow any major coin unless you're going to get something that can really get into OBD and play with it...

Taanks a lot Ed. Got the codes.

One is a lack of communitcation from the tcu.

Still need to look up the other. Thanks a lot!

Here are the two codes.
-P700 The automatic transmission computer or Aisin computer has a problem
-P1694 No messages received from the powertrain control module-Aisin transmission.

I ordered a new tcu from J&w auto wreckers in CA.

Thanks a lot Ed!
