Anyone going to Moab?

Don't know why I waited until the night before leaving to ask. My wife, son and I are heading out tomorrow a.m. for a 10 day trip to Moab. We're taking our XJ and my son is driving his 77 Cherokee (401, Holley bbl to enjoy the rising gas prices) . If anyone is going to be down there in the next week or so we would enjoy having some company wheeling and/or camping.

Plan on going down, that is if I'm done with the lift and such. I just installed a new engine, that was not in the budget, so don't know how quick I'll have the lift and tires on. Will still have to run the stock diffs for a while, till I can save the money for new Currie Ford 9" rear, and not to sure what I'm doing up front.

We had a great trip to Moab! It's a bit of a drive but well worth it. If you've never been I would highly recommend it as a wheeling destination. We were only gone 10 days and managed to spend 7 in a row wheeling. Spring is an excellent time to go as it's not too hot but still great weather. The sun was out every day and it was in the upper 70's to low 80's. We got there Sunday morning during the mass exodus from the Jeep Safari. The trails were almost deserted as most were already on the way home. There's something for everyone to run there. If you've been intimidated by seeing pics of heavily modified rigs running really gnarly stuff and figured your rig isn't up to it - don't believe it. I'm pretty new to the sport and only running a 3.5" RE Superflex on BFG 31's and managed to do a bunch of the better (marked difficult on maps) trails with zero damage and no stucks. My wife did offer to get out frequently and take pictures with her digital camera and it was usually when we got to the best parts of the trail. Not sure why that was...
Anyway I'm not saying that you can take a stock rig down there and run everything, but there's miles and miles of great trails from easy to almost impossible. Camping is great and there's a nice public swimming pool you can use for 3 bucks including the showers. We didn't get any rafting in this time since we were having so much fun with the Jeeps but that and lots of other stuff are popular there too. Here's a few pics. If anyone's interested I'll post some more after I get my slides back (yes, I still use film!)
