My example about why no-one cares right now about anything besides Barnwell:
You started this thread roughly 24 hours ago and it has 40 views.
Ian started a thread roughly 24 hours ago about somebody's vm; it has 60 views.

When people in this chapter give more of a damn about petty sheet than offroading, then that shows why we can onlyh have one sanctioned trip every 6 months.

That being said, I'd love to go do k-rocks, but I don't know if I can do it next week.

Scheduling isn't really the issue. If someone where to pipe up and say we're going here on such and such date people would be debating a better date or location.

For me, it's still just a money thing though.

Ive noticed the same thing. We have a big area that we are spread across so it hard to get everyone together. To fill the void between sanctioned events, people who are closer together should make more of an attempt to set up smaller outings instead of bickering about where the next big event is. Just my 2 cents

Seriously, why was this event planned at barnwell? What was the overall convincing evidence against other places planned?

I'm not saying I won't attend, but I'd probably be more inclined to attend something different/closer.

Katemcy was closed the weekend we wanted and dont have the money to reserve, Trees and Boulder took forever to contact me back. Thats why Barnwell was chosen.

Yeah, pretty much this. Katemcy is awesome, but unless you're gonna front the 3 Grand to reserve a weekend, then we'll never go except as a piggy-back on an open event. We strongly considered Trees but had communications issues. It doesn't hurt that Barnwell is about as close to the middle as it gets in terms of distance from our various membership.

Well, Katemcy is ONLY open if someone reserves it for an event. Its up to the people running that event as to whether or not to allow others to attend. So, in order to have ANY say in the day that our event occurs, we have to reserve the park. That said, I don't think anyone had any real problems with piggybacking on an open event, but none of them matched up with our proposed timeframe this year.

I think that the BoD wanted our Rides of March event to just be our event and not to piggy back.
