A group of us are hoping to go out on the 11th and 12th of June. A friend of mine heard from a friend of his that many parts of the trail are washed out with all the snowmelt runoff and that the trail is closed and likely will be closed most of the summer. Someone with correct info please tell me this ain't so??!!!

the only part of the trail that I could imagine that would be true is the small water crossing near Wentworth Springs.

yup trail is closed tell eveyone u know!!!!!!!!! keep spreading the rumomor!! (then less ppl will b on trail!) its great when not that many ppl are on it!!

seriuosly though the trail isn't closed. that i know of

It's not closed but there is potential for being stuck on the trail:
I think June 4 for the spill date is as good an approximation as any -- Loon was about four feet under spill on Friday night. There was snow in the lake and a partial freeze on Wednesday, and you've gotta look hard to find any snow-bergs as of Saturday morning.

When the lake spills, it will block the Loon connector, so be prepared.
Tahoe is passable but it is a tough slog... Wentworth is passable but is deep right now, even absent spill. Keep in mind that trying multiple outs can burn fuel at a rapid rate, and make good decisions.

well u could always jsut go out withworth springs which isn't that hard if the spillway over flows!!
