Any Beretta fans in the house?

Reliable, relatively cheap, still a 9mm, I'm more of a .45 person myself. Only reason they got 'popular' was the US military adopted them and thats a guaranteed road to success with any pistol. Have her hold it first and if possible fire it, depending on her and your hands it may be big for one, small for the other.
As for me, nothing beats a colt royal blue finish vs the finish on most of the new pistols.

It felt great in both of our hands. At MSRP this gun is quite a bit more than we wanted to spend. We were leaning toward the XD9 before we came acrossed this.
Thanks,

Carried one for a while in the Army. I 'liked' it, like I would 'like' my sister or dog. It worked but to me I never got used to the 'shape' of it. They're good pieces of equipment but I'm a bit indifferent about them. Carried it because I had no choice, worked when I needed it to, but I wouldn't consciously purchase one.

I'm in the market real soon here for a 9mm and it WILL BE a CZ-75 P-01 model. Compact, doublestack, VERY ergonomic, and shoots like a dream. :) I'm a big fan of the CZ pistols, but that's probably my heritage talking. ;) Could easily go with another Glock but I've already got one.

So, your opinion has a lot to do with just how it fit in your hand? Cause it was more comfortable to my wife and I than the XD, Glock, or Sig.
Thanks,
Billy

[edit] we haven't shot it yet, btw

I've got a Tomcat, Beretta is a decent quality firearm. As long as you stay with a quality product, you can't lose.

Find what you like, find what fits, find what you shoot best. Buy what you want.

I usually split even on fit and function, less on 'appearances' from an aesthetic point of view. The deal with the Beretta for me had to do with the way the slide was set. I just could never fully get used to gripping it up top for malfunction clearing. Just seemed too big I guess for what it was.

Just about any major manufacturer is going to put out a decent piece, so I usually choose based on the function I want it to perform, then evaluate it at the range.

I've heard both good and bad things about the 92fs.I my self have a Walther P99 Military 9mm (pre S&W) and absolutely love it.It fires flawlessly and is one of the most comfortable handguns I've ever held.
