Last time we went as a group to Evan's Creek, I took my Dad with me. At the time, he was on his 3rd consecutive Toyota LandCruiser in 30 years, from a '67 FJ45W to a '76 FJ55 to the '91 Gold FJ80 that he had at Evans Creek (in the camp ground). Devoted, to say the least.

Well, he just sold that one, and is looking for an XJ! It only took one trip and he's chompin' at the bit to find a XJ for wheelin' trips. ECKSJAY: I'll be giving you a call for some parts once he finds the right candidate!

A true testament to the impressive nature of the XJ if there ever was one.

Those LCs are nice too...

I told my wife the other nite, the more I drive my XJ, the more I grow fond of it. Now, thats more powerful than to say the more I *like* it. Think about it...

Ive never enjoyed the ownership of a vehicle more!

Father and Son on the trail together!!

What is he looking for and what's he looking to spend? I've normally got one or two for sale or nearing completion and close to being ready. I also keep a pretty close eye on what's for sale out there and can give him some ideas.

John,

I think we'll be looking for something along the lines of Hans' or Mark's truck: looks like a normal rig, not too bad to drive on the road, but can still go places. It will be a DD for him as well as a road-trip car. He drives about 35k miles per year, so it can't be too wild.

I've seen some 2000-2001s with decent miles bring around $6500-8500 at the auctions, so something along those lines is where we'll probably end up. If you know of any screaming deals, feel free to let me know.

I'll also be calling you in a few weeks to take a look at my rig and give it a once-over.

And Phil, that was NOT a "puddle" I went through. I think they offer ferry service on that "puddle." There's a boat launch, for God's sake.
I swear I saw a pod of Orcas while I was waiting for a tow.

P.S. I'd say it's time to order that snorkel, too.

I know of a Black '00 Sport with like 66k miles on it, very nice shape. It's a dealer friend of mine who has it. I've driven it and check it out and it's very nice. He MAY have sold it by now, but he gets them in on a regular basis or can GET you whatever you want. Call him and discuss what you're looking for if you want, just let him know that John sent you his way and he'll take care of you.

Greg Johnson is his name. 206-786-4734.

Phil, can you find one of those for me?

Dude, Mk19's rock!

Captain Nemo,

I saw a '99 in Federal Way for about $6500 in the latest auto trader...low miles! Looks just like mine (when it was stock). The only Jeep there after the Isuzus. I can get you the number if you want (?)
