OK guys, it's time to buy the gfu some diamond earings. What do I need to look for when I go shopping for them? Gimme specs :D Looking to spend around 1-200$ depending on what that'll get me. Want them to be silver in color, whether that's actually silver or white gold is still yet to be decided. Thanks for any and all info you can gimme. Been a year and a half with her, and it's her birthday. Thanks guys

Take two days and go to NYC and the diamond district. Those $500 earings they sell in local jewelery stores cost $150 there. Read up on some of the terminology before you go though. Meanwhile if you are interested I'll ask around or better yet hit up XJGuy direct, he lives there and I have not done any diamond deals in over 20 years.

Buy $150 in Jeep parts, 2 pans, fillup the tank, & take her gold panning (mostly wheeling) in Uwharrie.

If she luvs ya for it, buy her the earrings for xmas.

<edit: watch out for snakes>

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....Woody, you crack me up. You've obviously never met the gf. She's a city girl to boot. Her idea of "real camping" is when you go to the campsites with gravel tentsites with power at the picnic tables and a showerhouse with hot water. Outdoors stuff will always be my getaway, which is fine with me ;)

:dunno:

Ary has a woman in serious need of undomestication.

Just tryin to help LOL

After 11 years, mine still freaks when she finds new dead things in the freezer, so I'd guess most of them are a "work in progress"

:rolleyes:

Not only am I in NYC but I am in the jewelry business and am on 47th and 5th Ave in the Diamond district (actually my dad is, I just help him out sometimes). Let me know if I can help.

My wife got the itch for some shiney things so we sat down at the jewelry store and started dealing. She came out with a $2k ring and I came out with a set of 36" swampers. WHOS THE MAN!!!!! :yelclap: :clap: :doh:
That was for our 8th anniv.

Well, I ended up just getting some 1/3 ct princess cut studs from Zales for $299. It came down to time and place becoming more important than price. Now when it comes time for a ring, I'll definately be giving you a call Rich. Her reaction was priceless. She's the daughter of a postman and a kindergarden teacher, nice family, no money. So when someone spent $300 on her, she about fell over. I don't think giving someone a present has ever felt this good. Anyway, thanks for the suggestions guys. Don't look to hear about any mods on my Jeep for a while, between $500 on books, $500 on software, and $300 on the little woman, I'm just about spent ;)

Doesnt it just make you feel warm and fuzzy when your woman gets all giddy about what you give her. Not to mention the leverage you get to use during when you try to justify buying more Jeep parts.;)

XJguy, I wish I had known you were right there on 47th and 5th. I took my wife on a vacation about 6 months back and we must have walked by your shop a dozen times while we were in NYC. Could have stopped in to say hello.
