i just got the front end setup and alined, im fine tuning a fews things, i have no front driveshaft installed, so i went over to the rock pile at my dads shop and OMG, i thought 8" of lift with 32's would be sweet for flexin, but bigger tires would help out, im gonna sell my mtrs, but im thinkin of gettin something new, maybe toyo, firestone, or boggers, i like mud alot, ill get pics tomorrow of it flexed,
goin from 4.5" to 8" is insane:scared:

Going from 4.5" to 8" is EXPENSIVE! Let us know how it works.
Are you bringing it to WF?

WTF? 8 inch lift for baby tires. what are you thinking? I hope you say bigger tire.

What could you possibly need 8" of lift for, other than looking cool as you crawl over the mall parking blocks.

I use mine for more than that!

I stand corrected. You NEED that kind of height to clean obstacles like that.

Sorry, my point was, that much height is not only unnecessary but even detrimental in almost all cases with an XJ.
Unless you're starting from scratch and designing a completely new suspension system, trying to get 8" of lift using stockish components causes huge performance issues.
Things like steering, driveline, and suspension geometry usually end up severely compromised.
We haven't even addressed center of gravity problems.
Generally speaking, a well designed 5"-6" of lift and some body trimming will give far better performance, break less, and be much more cost effective.

I do have to agree that it is really tall, almost too tall. And definatly agree that there are many issues with this hight that I am fighting with. like a new front axle, driveshafts and much much more. And this picture represents the center of gravity issue, which is a big concern!!!!

But hopefully some longer shocks, rear bumper, and gas tank skid which are in the works should give me more weight it in the back to help it some.

i cant fully flex it out, cuz i havent put in the slip yoke kit yet, so the pics have only been taken with one wheel drive, im afraid that if i flex it to its max that the opposite tire will be on its sidewall, but i dont want to get to big cuz i only have 4.10 gears, i couldnt take pics of it when i climbed this steep hill in one wheel drive, at first i went slow and i couldnt make it, then i gave it some gas, and i made it was insane, the hill was a quad trail so i was flexin while climbin, i thought i was gonna roll it, it was sweet, cant wait till im done

having the mtrs grooved kicks ass:rolleyes:

Blake look at the Pit Bull Rockers. There whole line is wide, and that might help give you a little wider stance. I just bought a set of 33x13.5x15 and so far love them. They sound like a cessna going down the highway but I've been impressed with how well they do in the rain. I pulled into a pit of standing water and mud in 2wd, stopped and didn't even spin a tire pulling out. I've haven't gotten to try them on the rocks and aired down yet but I've heard good reviews. I will be down at KS Rocks on the 17th of Nov. if you want to come check out a set in person. You know Wheeling for Toys at KS Rocks has a set of 35's in the raffle this year.
