Adjusting the bands on a Automatic Trans?

95/4.0L, Doing a bit of a winter resto on the Cherokee at the moment.
I have dropped the pan and filter on the A/T and wondering if there is anyway an average backyard mechanic like myself can "adjust the bands"?

Are you having any tranny symptoms? If so, post here for comment.

Not aware of any type of band adjustment on the AW4 automatic transmission.

Just keep fresh fluid in it and at the proper level on the dipstick.

BirchlakeXJ has it right, no band adjustment AW4.

I agree, don't fix what ain't broke! If it came by itself, often it will go away by itself!

I dont get it because when I look up on alldata.com they say that the XJ come with 2 different trans (AW4 and other trans, idk what model) the other than AW4 require adjusting the bands, but I never see this trans other than AW4?

chrysler 904 (three speed) was used in the 84-86 XJ's and does have an external band adjustment proceedure.
